Pallet Support Bars

What are Pallet Support Bars?

Pallet support bars are made of heavy-duty steel and they are positioned over the front and rear beams of the racking bay.
They are available in many different lengths, widths and duties.
They can be used when there is no decking or in conjunction with decking and, in some cases, they can be designed and integrated into a mesh level as a single unit.

Pallet Support Bars, why do you need them?

Apart from them being another great safety feature, there are some situations where they are needed:

Variable Pallet sizes. The pallet should be supported on the beams by resting on both the front and back beams; if the pallet falls short or has not been loaded accurately, a pallet support bar can help bear and distribute the weight.

Unreliable pallet quality. If the pallet quality is insufficient, the pallets can sag, which can lead to breakage. A pallet support bar can help reinforce the pallet bearing the load.

Pallet support bars can be cost effective by improving the efficiency of operatives.

Decking

Timber decks These are a traditional choice for many warehouse managers.
They provide a robust solution for decking out pallet racking across the beams. They fit over the front and the rear beams of the level and each level usually required 2 units (this is for ease of fitting).

What are the benefits of timber decks?

There are different options to choose from.
They are easy to fit.
They come in different thickness and different configurations. They are generally supplied so that 2 units fit one level.
Closed boarded decks – stop small products from falling through.
Semi-open slats 11mm or less
Standard open slat configuration
Re-enforced slats with a central baton and cross-grain cleating of the nails

We always work with mills that use sustainable forest wood.

Mesh Decks

Steel Mesh decks are another popular choice to deck the warehouse racks. They come in different grades, duties and sizes.
Airflow – They promote airflow, and allow more light into the warehouse.
Fire Safety – Mesh is often chosen for its durability and fire safety, especially when warehouses are storing flammable products or batteries.
Cleaner – Another good point about mesh is that they are a cleaner solution, as debris can fall through the mesh.
Visibility – mesh enables operators to see the stock for identification and loading purposes.
Load bearing – Mesh is available in different duties.
